Isaac is the 13 year old son of our director, Rick. Isaac is a happy little boy who has a twin brother, and a massive smile.
Isaac has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and complex medical needs including a tracheostomy and gastrostomy, and an intrathecal baclofen pump.
Isaac has inspired Rick to become very involved in service development and campaigning for children and families like his on a voluntary basis.
NHS - Rick has worked with the NHS Chief Nursing Officer's Office and the 6C's of Care Campaign 2013-15, NHS Leadership Programme, Royal College of Pharmacists, Bolton NHSFT, Blackpool NHS FT around various aspects of service development, learning and presentation of experience.
Colleges and Universities - Rick has supported and facilitated seminars and sessions on a regular basis for Nursing Students since 2013 at Salford University, Birmingham City University, University of Bolton.
WellChild and Disabled Children's Partnership - Rick has been a WellChild Parent Advisory Group Member since 2015 and an active part of the work of the Disabled Children's Partnership. Rick has worked extensively to bring the experiences of service provision of children with disabilities to people who influence policy change. Rick has presented at Parliamentary APPG's, represented the views of service users in various civil service forums and worked with the media including interviews on Radio 2, BBC Radio Lancashire, BBC North West Tonight (TV), and in print in The Big Issue, The Sun and regional media.
